Careful in the ways that matter
An assistant that writes to your family's calendar without asking is worse than no assistant. This one asks.
Nothing saves until you say so
Every event and every item arrives pre-ticked on a confirm sheet. Untick what's wrong, then press Add it all. Until you do, your board is untouched.
Repeats become real repeats
"Practices Tuesdays 5:15 through Nov 10" becomes a repeating event with an end date โ not one note on one day.
It assigns to the right child
An event naming exactly one person on your board goes to them. Two names or none goes to Everyone. Matching is whole-word, so "Sam" never matches "Samantha".
Strangers are noted, never added
Coach Ramirez shows up as "noted, not part of your family". People mentioned in a flyer cannot become members of your household.
Things to buy go to a list
"Bring shin guards" lands on a School stuff list, created for you if it doesn't exist yet.
Photos shrink before they leave
Downscaled on your phone first. Nothing full-resolution is sent, and nothing is used to train anything.
A missing person gets a button
If the parse finds a name that isn't on your board, you get "๏ผ Add Jack" โ and their rows reassign live in the sheet.
Fees and deadlines too
"$45 due Sep 12" becomes something on the board, not something you remember at 11pm on the 13th.

About Magic Add and the assistant
What actually happens to my photo?
It's downscaled on your phone to a small JPEG, sent once to be read, and the extracted dates come back to your confirm sheet. It isn't used to train anything, and it isn't kept as a photo library. The privacy policy spells this out.
What if it gets something wrong?
You see everything before it saves, so a wrong row is one untick. If a parse fails entirely, Happy Herd opens the normal event form with your text already in it rather than dead-ending you.
Can it add a person to my family by mistake?
No. A name found in a flyer can only become a member if you tap "๏ผ Add" yourself. Names it recognises as outsiders โ a coach, another parent โ are listed as noted and cannot be added at all.
Is the assistant included, or extra?
Included in the Happy Herd Family Plan. There's no separate assistant subscription.
Does the assistant text my kids?
No. It's bound to one verified parent phone number, and every outbound message has to clear opt-in, verification, snooze, quiet hours and the per-message-type switch before it sends.
Can I stop it texting me without cancelling?
Yes โ reply STOP or PAUSE, or turn any message type off in Settings. Pause until tomorrow is one tap.
