Privacy policy
Effective July 18, 2026
Happy Herd is a family organization app. This policy describes what we collect and what we do with it, in plain language, because the honest answer is short.
What we collect
- One parent email address — the account that creates your family. It is used to sign in and to recover access. Nothing else.
- Family content you create — first names or nicknames for family members, chores, events, rewards, meal plans, lists, and optional profile photos. This is your data; we store it so your devices stay in sync.
- Basic technical records — the minimum service logs required to run and secure the system.
About children
Children never have accounts. They exist only as profiles — a first name and an avatar — created and controlled entirely by a parent inside the family. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app has no public or social features of any kind.
What we never do
- No advertising, and no advertising trackers.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of your data with anyone.
- No analytics profiles built about you or your family.
Where data lives
Your family’s data is stored with our infrastructure provider, Supabase, in the United States, protected by industry-standard encryption and access rules that limit every record to your own family.
The optional event import
If you use the event-import feature, the text you paste is sent to an AI service (Anthropic) to extract dates, then discarded. It is not used to train anything.
Your controls
You can delete any content, any member profile, or your entire family at any time from inside the app, or by emailing hello@happyherd.app from your account address. Deleting the family removes its data from our systems.
Changes
If this policy changes in any meaningful way, the effective date above changes with it, and continued use means acceptance of the current version.
